Why Four Questions?

The name is a reference to Nobel-prize winner Niko Tinbergen's 4 levels of analysis for understanding animal behavior.

Dr. Victoria A. Cussen, PhD CAAB is the President of Four Questions Consulting, LLC.

She understands the joy of interacting with dogs and the frustration of undesirable behaviors.

She is passionate about understanding how animals think and feel- and using that to troubleshoot problem behaviors.

Her passion to improve the quality of life for both owner and pet is why she provides behavior modification consultation services.

Dr. Cussen is excited to learn about you & your dog, and help you heal your relationship!

Our Story

Dr. Cussen trained at the best institutions in the world, including the University of Edinburgh, Scotland and the University of California, Davis.

She is an expert in the fields of comparative cognition and animal behavior.

She is an Animal Behavior Society Certified Applied Animal Behavior (CAAB) – the most rigorous behavior certification in the world.

She is also the Director of Applied Behavior Research for the ASPCA's Anti-Cruelty Behavior Team.

Dr. Cussen spends her free time hiking with and training her super mutt, Faolán, and further developing her practical skills by working with the best trainers in the industry.
